The world-famous Cabot Trail
Duration: 6 - 8 hours

As the sun rises, begin your day with a short ferry ride across historic St. Ann’s Bay and travel the rugged coastline of the North Shore that borders the Atlantic Ocean. This scenic travelway will lift you over majestic mountains then dip down into quaint fishing villages, home to ancestors of the early French and Scottish settlers. Learn how to catch lobsters, spot a bald eagle or moose and watch for pilot whales feeding off the coast. Your tour takes you through 500 square miles of the unspoiled and protected wilderness of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Have your camera ready for the beautiful Margaree, anglers from around the world come to fish salmon in these pristine waters.

The Ceilidh Tours

Ceilidh is Gaelic for gathering, and we'll be having a gathering of friends and traditions as we explore this scenic trail. This tour takes us to the western shores of the Island, home to many world-renowned celtic musicians including Natalie MacMaster and the Rankin Family.

Climb aboard as we visit Glenora Distillery, the only single-malt whiskey distillery of its kind in North America.

A guided tour, a wee taste of dram, celtic sounds and a fine dinner complement this true Ceilidh in the Mabou Highlands. Bannockburn’s experienced drivers will return you safely to your accommodation with a stop over at a popular local pub along the way. Truly an authentic Cape Breton Island experience!
