Discussion Forum Frequently Asked Questions and Answers Here is a brief explanation of some of the questions you may have about this WWWBoard.
Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts? For starters, I've set up the script to allow HTML tags in the body of the message only . Please use reasonableness when using this option. It is mostly intended for formatting your text (bold, italic, coloured text, etc.) If it is abused - for instance, using it for huge blinking text or pictures which are not suitable for the whole family.. I do have the option of turning the feature off in the script.
Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a followup? Colons in the message dialog box indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document. These are editable, so that if you wish to only quote part of the previous message you can select and delete the unwanted part. This saves space on the server and is greatly appreciated.
Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled displayed a cached version from your hard drive. Please reload your browser and it should then appear. If you would like to prevent this from happening permanently.. go to your browsers 'Options' menu... select 'Network Preferences'.. then look for a heading called 'Cache'. In there is a checkbox (or button) for choosing whether your browser 'refreshes' or 'checks' documents 'every time' 'once per session' or 'never'. Make sure you select the option: 'every time'. Click OK. Next time you start up your browser, it will use the new setting. Back to the Discussion Forum |
