The Old Manse in Middle River, Cape Breton is a traditionally built house (1911), which has been totally renovated, whilst still retaining the period charm of this country home. The renovation was only completed in August of 2007, so be one of the first to enjoy this wonderful old home!

Set right on the Cabot Trail, The Old Manse is within easy reach (12 minutes) of nearby Baddeck with its array of restaurants, the Yacht Club open to the public, the Alexander Graham Bell museum, and traditional ceilidhs. Baddeck is a lovely small town with several shops for your grocery needs as well as gift shops, a bank and post office. The only Gaelic College in North America is in nearby St. Ann's. Music festivals abound throughout the year culminating in the Celtic colours festival in October which attracts world famous Celtic and folk music acts.

Cape Breton Island is home to the last stronghold of Celtic culture in North America and is very reminiscent of Scotland, for indeed it was the Scots who settled the island in the 1700's. A trip around the Trail is a scenic delight with a constantly changing vista of river, mountain and sea.
